Tierra Geomatics has completed engineering design and municipal permitting for the first 3,000 homes in a Newmarket, Ontario Fiber-to-the-Home program.
The work was completed on behalf of a major telecommunications provider and prepares the service area for the next stage of FTTH delivery.
A 3,000-Home Milestone
Completing the first design-and-permit package is a significant project milestone. It demonstrates Tierra’s ability to coordinate geospatial information, engineering requirements, and municipal approvals across a large residential service area.
It also gives construction teams the approved information they need before installation begins.
What the Work Involved
The engineering design process included a detailed review of the project area and surrounding conditions. The team considered existing underground infrastructure, site constraints, and environmental factors while developing the proposed network design.
Tierra worked with the telecommunications provider and municipal reviewers to move the required permits through the process efficiently.
