Tierra Geomatics has been awarded engineering design and permitting work for a Fiber-to-the-Home program serving 7,000 homes in Newmarket, Ontario.
The award follows Tierra’s completion of engineering design and municipal permits for an initial 3,000-home Newmarket program delivered for another telecommunications provider.
A Second Major Newmarket Milestone
The new award expands Tierra’s role in preparing large residential service areas for FTTH construction. It also builds on the team’s recent experience coordinating design and approvals for thousands of homes in the same municipality.
Together, the two milestones demonstrate repeatable delivery across complex, large-scale fiber programs.
Coordinating Design and Permits
Tierra will work with the telecommunications provider to develop the engineering design and coordinate the permits required before construction.
That process brings together field information, proposed network routes, existing infrastructure, municipal requirements, and project documentation. Keeping those inputs aligned helps create a clearer path from planning to installation.
Supporting FTTH Readiness
FTTH projects depend on more than construction capacity. They also require accurate information, practical designs, and timely approvals.
By completing those early phases, Tierra helps reduce uncertainty for the teams responsible for building the network and prepares the 7,000-home service area for future fiber installation.
